Join friends and neighbors at the Buckland Public Library on Saturday afternoon, March 3rd, from 1:00-2:30 or so to learn how to download e-books, audio-books and videos to your computer or portable device for free using your C/WMARS library card.
The presentation will include an overview of the C/W MARS digital books website (http://digitalbooks.cwmars.org), including how to browse or search for audiobooks, ebooks, and videos, the checkout procedure, and downloading and transferring. You will learn about the software needed for this procedure, which devices will work with library content, and more. A few portable devices will be on hand for patron use, but participants are welcome to bring their own devices. (Prior to the workshop, check to see if yours will work with OverDrive products by going to http://www.overdrive.com/resources/drc/. )
The CWMARS, Inc. digital collection includes over 4000 ebooks, 2200 audiobooks, and over 500 videos. There are 75 “always available” audiobooks, and over 400 A&E, History Channel and Biography videos in the “always available” format, as well as the traditional “one copy, one user” items. Also available are over 600 Disney Digital Online titles.
C/WMARS Access Services Associate Cynthia Laino will present the program free of charge. Refreshments will be served; for these, modest donations will be welcomed. The Buckland Public Library is located at 30 Upper Street — just off Route 112, five minutes from Shelburne Falls. This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
