Library Tour

Welcome to the Buckland Public Library! We’re excited to show you around and introduce you to the many resources and services we offer. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or a first-time visitor, we hope you’ll discover something new and feel right at home.

Griswold Room

The original 1890 library structure is now the Griswold Room, home to our adult fiction, non-fiction, adult audiobook and local history collections. It’s a beautiful place to browse for a good book, sit and relax, or listen to a presentation or reading by a local author.

Reading Room

The central space of the library houses our large print books and adult graphic novels, our extensive DVD collection of movies, TV shows, and documentaries, our CD collection, and our public computers and printer.Ā  Our new release books display, our puzzle collection, and our borrowable issues of popular magazines make it a natural gathering spot. It’s also been used to host concerts, plays, and other community events.

Kids and Teens Sections

We offer a rich and engaging collection for children ages 0–12, designed to support early literacy, learning, and imaginative play. Our materials include board books, picture books, beginner books for emerging readers, early chapter books for intermediate readers, and a wide selection of juvenile fiction and non-fiction. We also offer graphic novels, children’s DVDs and audiobooks, and creative play resources for all ages. In our children’s area, kids can enjoy a variety of hands-on activities including puzzles, a coloring table, a train table, a puppet theater with puppets, a dollhouse, a marble run, and a LEGO play station.
The teen sectionĀ  is a dedicated space designed to meet the interests and needs of young people ages 12–18. It features a curated collection of young adult (YA) fiction, non-fiction, and graphic novels that reflect a wide range of genres, identities, and experiences.

Community Room

Our community room serves as a flexible, shared space for educational, cultural, and civic activities that benefit the public. It is used for library programs and meetings, but is also available for use by local organizations, clubs, and town committees when the library is closed. It has a small kitchenette, a conference table and chairs, and also houses our ā€œbook saleā€ offerings of donated books for purchase. We aim to make the community room a welcoming space where people can gather, share ideas, and engage with their neighbors. For more information on booking the community room for your meeting or event, see the Reserve Community Room link on the home page or click on the link in the navigation bar.Ā
